Repeater
The KARS group operates a 2 meter repeater. The repeater, KT5TX with an output frequency of 147.200(+) and a PL of 141.3, is located in Katy at an elevation of 140′. It is also an EchoLink repeater (KT5TX-R).
Net
The KARS Net is held every Tuesday at 8:00 PM on the KT5TX repeater. (Click HERE for the net procedure)
Meetings
The KARS monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at Westlake Fire Station, 19636 Saums Road Houston 77084

Activities
The KARS group also meets every Saturday at 8:00AM at Freddy’s Cafe for coffee and breakfast. Wednesday evenings around 07:30 PM a smaller KARS group meets at Jason’s Deli also just south of I-10 on Mason for coffee.
In June of each year we gather to compete in ‘Field Day’ – a worldwide amateur radio happening. Pictures will be uploaded when available for this event.
KARS is also active in the Harris County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES).
Our By-Laws and Constitution are available for those wishing to look them over prior to considering joining the group.
