This document details the changes proposed for the Katy ARS Constitution and Byelaws which will be voted on t the March AGM
- Changes to responsibilities
(ii) The Roles of the Vice President
Deputise in the absence of the President.
Responsible for coordinating programs for club meetings.
(iii) The Roles of the Secretary
Keep a record of the proceedings of all meetings.
Keep a roll of members.
Manage the new member process.
Carry on all correspondence and read communications at each meeting.
2. Chages to Article VIII
Proposals for amendments outside the AGM shall be submitted in writing, email, or as motions at a regular club meeting. Voting on the proposed amendments shall follow at the next regular club meeting. An email listing the proposed amendment(s) including the date and time of the next regular meeting must be submitted to voting members no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the next regular club meeting. Voting can also be delegated to the president in the case of members not able to be present
(iii) In times of an official government declared national, state or local emergencies (Hurricane, flood, pandemic or other force majeur) the board can make any changes required to ensure the integrity of the club, its assets and finances.
Membership application procedure
The online Membership application shall be completed and submitted to the Treasurer along with a non refundable payment of dues as listed in Section 4. The treasurer will then forward the application to the secretary who will confirm of the validity of the amateur license held by the applicant. Approval of a Membership is then granted and the secretary will communicate that to the new member (copied BoD). At the next general meeting the secretary will introduce the new members
The President will however have a discretionary expenditure allowance of $250 for payment of incidentals or payments required for the efficient running of the club. This allowance should not exceed $500 in any calendar year.
The Board will have discretionary expenditure of up to $500 per approved club event. Any projected costs above that will require a vote from the members at a monthly meeting.
